Sabena Julia Nave, 65, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Monday, December 3, 2012, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Ms. Nave was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Stanford Eugene “Peg” and Ruby Warren Nave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Connie Nave. Survivors include three foster brothers, Jack VanDyke and wife Carolyn, Jim VanDyke and wife Loretta, all of Elizabethton, and Jerry VanDyke, Beaumont, Calif.; an uncle, Robert Nave of Florida; and two aunts, Florence Tucker and husband Fred, Hampton, and Anna Lou Burleson, Elizabethton. Several cousins also survive.
The graveside service for Ms. Nave will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 6, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Steven Nauman officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 2 until 3 p.m. Thursday, prior to the graveside service. The family would like to express a special thanks to the employees of Hermitage Health Care and Sycamore Shoals Hospital for their loving care to Sabena.
