Shirley Alberta Fulton Hardin, age 78, of Newton, passed away on Friday, January27, 2012 at her residence.
Born May 30, 1933 in Carter County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Nelson Fulton and Fannie Mae Cornett Fulton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Fulton, Bill Fulton, Earl Fulton; sisters, Virginia McGhee, Ruth Adcox, Maxine Johnson, Ruby Honeycutt, Helen Pearce, and Elsie Fulton.
Survivors in addition to her companion, James Smith, are her children, Jimmy F. Hathaway and fiancée, Shellie Cochran of Newton, Judy S. Smith and husband, Randy, of Hickory, Sandra S. Isenhour and husband, Dallas, of Hickory; grandchildren, Tammy Turner, Andrea Lyons, Angela Hewitt, John A. Smith, Destiny Hathaway, Elizabeth Hartsoe, Missy Aguilar and husband, Chaz; niece and caregiver, Geraldine Wadlington; eleven great-grandchildren and 24 nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cooley officiating. Burial will at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at Drum Funeral Home prior to the service.
