Stacy Scott Sams, 45, 714 Fairway Drive, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord peacefully Saturday morning, September 7, 2013. He was a Carter County native. Stacy was a 1986 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a 1990 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He spent the last 15 plus years in the Transportation Industry, most recently as Director of Operations at the Titan Transfer, Inc., Shelbyville, Tenn. Stacy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was preceded in death by an Uncle, Ronnie Young. Stacy was a devoted son, brother and uncle. Survivors include the love of his life: Katrina Nidiffer, Nashville; His Parents: Gene & Sonja Young Sams, of the home; His Brother & Sister-In-Law: Kevin & Elaine Sams, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; One Niece: Ashley Sams; and Two Nephews: Patrick and Alex Sams; Three Uncles: Terry Sams and his wife, Shirlene, N. Augusta, South Carolina, B.J. Sams, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Elmer Sams Jr. and wife, Frances, Elizabethton; One Aunt: Kathryn Young, Bristol; and several cousins; His special friend: Carolyn Nidiffer.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Stacy Sams will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Joe Sorah and Dr. Ray Sorrells officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by the Sams Brothers and Kevin Sams. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday will be: Billy Copous, Kent Young, Scott Dobbins, Chad Sams, Greg Maupin, John Wagner II and Cory Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Terry Sams Jr., Brad Sams, Andy Arnold, Tony Stout, Mark Madgett, David McKinley, Clay Garner, Don Aplin, Joel Burt, Jason Bailey and the 1986 graduate Class and his football team mates of Elizabethton High School.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Victor and Judy Deloach and Staff. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit the family and the residence of his parents, Gene & Sonja Sams, 714 Fairway Drive, Elizabethton.
