Mr. Steven “Steve†Glenn Royston, age 56, Jonesborough, died peacefully in his sleep Friday, July 8, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Royston was a native of Washington County and son of Floyd H. Royston, Johnson City, and the late Gladys Shell Royston.
He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. Royston was a self-employed Plumber. He loved NASCAR, Fishing, Camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, survivors include two daughters, Crystal Royston and Whitney Royston, both of Jonesborough; two grandchildren, Dalton Royston and Desirea Royston, both of Jonesborough; step-mother, Grace Royston, Johnson City; two sisters and brother-in-law, Teresa Keller, Jonesborough, and Brenda & Will Cole, Johnson City; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Royston, Kingsport, Allen & Debbie Royston, Texas, and David & Jan Royston, Johnson City; step-sisters and step-brothers-in-law, Gila & Chris Brock, VA, and Sheila & Bobby Armstrong, NC; step-brother and step-sister-in-law, Joe & Chizuru Byerly, OK; two aunts, Betty Hodges, Johnson City, and Lillian Royston, Elizabethton; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pete Tackett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steve Whetsell, Terry Whetsell, Chris Keller, Dusty Keller, Randy Corby, Wesley Royston, Johnny Rowe and Gary Story. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Stout and Mike Little.
