Steven J. Grindstaff, 60, Johnson City passed away Wednesday June 15, 2011 in Elizabethton.

He was a Carter County native. Steven was a 1968 graduate of Unaka High School. He was retired from The Eastman Company, Kingsport. He was of the Baptist Faith. His hobby was Coin Collecting.

Survivors include his son: Jordan Dean Grindstaff, Johnson City. A Step-Son: John Goodwin, of Virginia. His Parents: Jack Dean & Geraldine Scalf Grindstaff, Johnson City. A Sister & Brother-in-Law: Jackie & Judge Pippin, Knoxville. Two Nephews: Seth & Stephen Pippin. Several cousins including two special cousins, Ann & Sandy. His special dogs: Buster & Ki Ki.

Private Graveside Services for family members will be conducted in Happy Valley Memorial Park with his nephew Seth Pippin officiating. Active Pallbearers will be family members. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carter County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 134, Elizabethton, Tenn.37644 or the Washington County Animal Shelter, 525 Sells Avenue, Johnson City, Tenn. 37604.

Friends may also call at the residence of his parents, Jack Dean & Geraldine Scalf Grindstaff.
