Thomas F. Carriger

image Thomas Frost Carriger, 52, of Johnson City, died unexpectedly at his residence Monday, February 13, 2012.

A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Thomas McDonald and Cathryn Frost Carriger.

Mr. Carriger was an avid golfer and a car enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Pearl Carriger and Dr. W.G. and Elsie Frost, and two aunts, Elizabeth Regas and Margaret Neas.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane Miller and husband Gary, Jonesborough, and Marilyn Carriger and her caregiver, Robbin Gibson and family, all of Elizabethton; an aunt, Peggy Carriger and her special friend, Al Hubatka, Cary, N.C.; an uncle, Bill Regas, Knoxville; and two special children, Jessee and Kaleb West, both of Elizabethton. Several cousins also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Carriger will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 19, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Derek Cornett, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the memorial service, or at the residence of his sister, Marilyn Carriger, 400 West G Street, Elizabethton, at other times. Private interment will be held at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Haven of Mercy Rescue Mission, 123 West Millard Street, Johnson City, TN 37604 or to their favorite charity of choice.
