KINGSPORT — Viola “Vi” Mottern, 78, Kingsport, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Vi was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, William Frank Hart Sr.; mother, Ida Melissa Hart; seven brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her loving husband, C. Jack Mottern, Kingsport; four sisters, Anna Bell Webb, Beulah Garrison, Louise Sheffield, all of Elizabethton, and Helen Allen, of Asheville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 3rd Floor SICU at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
