Vivian Lucille Carriger, 78, Elizabethton “One of God’s Many Children” passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at her residence among family after an extended illness.

A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Bill & Myra Campbell Rhea. Mrs. Carriger was of the Baptist Faith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters: Nora Pritchard, Janice Hilton, Rhody Welch and Bobbie Joe Pritchard and a brother: Buddy Rhea.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Earl C. “Eli” Carriger of the home: A dear son & daughter-in-law: Greg Hilton and his wife Rhonda Lowe Hilton, Elizabethton. Three Sisters: Phyllis France, Jonesborough, Billie Holsclaw of Alabama and Sarah Allen, Elkton, Maryland. Two Brothers: Don Rhea and Ronnie Rhea both of Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews also survive and a very special sister-in-law: Peggy Carriger.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor John Perkins officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be: Greg Hilton, Ronnie Rhea, Don rhea, Curtis Pritchard, J.P. Pritchard and Ron Lee.

The family wish to extend a very special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice and also Christoph Chrisohon.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
