Wayne Edgar Clemons Sr., 58, 308 South Main Street, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 14, 2011.

He was the son of Velma Clemons, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, and the late R.J. Clemons and was born in Elizabethton.

Wayne was a faithful member of St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church in Buladean, NC. He loved his God, his family and his church. He was retired due to disability from General Shale Block in Piney Flats.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of nearly forty years, Pearl Clemons; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Jr. and Jessica Clemons, Bowling Green, KY; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Charles Stevens, Johnson City; a grandson, Josh Clemons; a granddaughter, Sarah Clemons; two adopted grandchildren, Julianne and Kyle Ingram; and a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Juanita Clemons; Johnson City. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Clemons will be conducted on Friday, November 18, 2011, at 8:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Rev. Roger Laws, Rev. Alan Laws and Rev. Kevin Laws officiating. Music will be under the direction of Roger, Alan and Kevin Laws, Brandon Laws, Michelle Hopson and Andy Hensley.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday prior to the service and at the home at other times.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 12:00 PM Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Matt Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, Mike Hughes, Mark Hughes, Chris Hopson, Daniel Hughes, Milas Hudgens and Mike Gines. Honorary pallbearers will be the children of St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church, whom Wayne loved, and his friends at General Shale Block. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home 11:15 AM Saturday.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and other staff members of the Regional Cancer Center at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital for all the love and care shown to Mr. Clemons during his illness.
