William “Bill” David Isaacs, Sr., age 79, 126 Piedmont Street, Elizabethton, was ushered by angels into the arms of Jesus on Monday, November 14, 2011 at his residence.

He fought a good fight and kept the faith. Mr. Isaacs was a son of the late Stewart Carroll Isaacs and Anna Bell Clemons Isaacs and was a native of Carter County. Mr. Isaacs was a member of Unaka Baptist Church. He was a contractor and previous owner of Isaacs Pools for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta Jane Isaacs, son, William D. Isaacs, Jr. grandson, Brian Thomas and two sisters, Lillian Bowling and Margie Lowe.

Additional survivors include his wife, Mildred Manning Isaacs, Elizabethton, daughter, Deborah Thomas and her husband, Jim, daughter, Diane Roberson and her husband, Walker, all of Elizabethton, son, Timothy Isaacs and his wife, Karen, Knoxville, daughter-in-law, Kathy Isaacs Bales, Elizabethton, step-son, Todd Manning and his wife, Leanne, Elizabethton, step-son, Matthew Manning and Monique, Oregon, step-daughter, Angela Odom and her husband, Earl, Elizabethton, brother, Ralph “Doc” Isaacs and his wife, Lucy, sister, Faye Younce and her husband, Ed, sister, Toni Sams and her husband, Jim. Eleven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Isaacs will be conducted at 8 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Walker Roberson and Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, from 5 PM until 8 PM, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 1 PM. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are ask to meet at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:15 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, David Isaacs, Rusty Isaacs, Richie Isaacs, Taylor Isaacs, James Thomas, III, James Thomas, IV, John Kandel, Brent Thomas, Mike Thomas, and step son-in-law, Earl Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Bob Stout, Don Hardin, Tim Hardin, Randy Hardin, Robert Groce, Bill Roberson, Mac Collins, James Richardson, Mike Barnett, Men of Unaka Baptist Church, Joe Carr, Cecil Carr, Leonard Lewis, Joe Smithdeal, Yogi Bowers, Pete Hampton, Bill Crawford, Dewey Hill and Dale Ball, his special hunting friends, sub-contractors, neighbors and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following; Forensics Elizabethton Dialysis’ Center, Caris Health Care and Mountain Home Veterans Center. A special thank you to his dialysis nurses, Renee, Barbara, Carmon, Jennifer, Sheila and Rebecca. Also a special thank you to home health nurses, Barbara, Tracy, Shannon, Michael and Jennifer.
