William Joseph “Bill” Williams, 92, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday April 13, 2011, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Don and Lucy Glover Williams. He was a 1939 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a former employee of the Bemberg Corporation and retired from the Raytheon Corporation, Bristol

Mr. Williams was a member and Elder of Borderview Christian Church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a former Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Williams served in the United States Army during World War II. He loved music and electronics.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Hicks Williams; and a brother; Robert G. Williams.

Survivors include Two Sisters: Helen Parris and Bonnie Brumit, both of Elizabethton; One Uncle: Albert Williams; Several Nieces & Nephews.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Bill Williams will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday April 16, 2011, in the Mausoleum of Peace Chapel with Mr. Kirk Langston, Minister, officiating.

Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, will be Elders & Deacons of Borderview Christian Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Darrel Carter, James Counts, Doyle Turbyfill, Scott Reynolds, Ken Harrison, Co-Workers of the Raytheon Corporation and his church family. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion & Tennessee National Guard.

To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Williams to the Special Projects of Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
