Mrs. Wilma S. Scott, 80, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born in Carter County to the late Edd C. and Lona Whitehead Shepherd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen W. Scott; sister, Hazel Shepherd; and a brother Mack Shepherd. Mrs. Scott worked as a caregiver, a former Rhododendron Queen and a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. She was also instrumental in helping start Towering Oaks Christian School, in Greeneville, loved to paint and enjoyed attending her church. Survivors include her sons, Steve Scott and wife, Lisa, of Louisville, KY, Joe Scott, of Limestone, TN, and Tim Scott and wife, Brenda, of Boca Raton, FL; sisters, Sherry Maines and husband, Tom, of Elizabethton, and Linda Trott and husband, Tony of Johnson City; brother, Carson Shepherd and wife, Marsha, of Roan Mountain; five grandchildren, Joey and wife, Luwana, Charlie, Ellen Nix and husband, Cody, Sarah and Hanah Rose Scott; two great grandchildren, Christyanna and Roy Scott; and special friends, Chris and Doug Dotterweich, Judith and Kenny Taylor and Gil and Betty Grossman. The funeral service for Mrs. Scott will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 27, 2013, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, and Tommy Maines, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Scott, Joe Scott, Tim Scott, Doug Dotterweich, Carson Shepherd and Mike Gass. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Scott, Charlie Scott, Bryan Scott, Nathaniel Trott and Andrew Trott. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 1:15 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
